People get involved in club activities such as fund raising by a number of practical means, including many catering events, the running of the Castlemaine Lions Swap Meet in April and wood gathering and distribution.
In so doing we raise funds for distribution in the local, national and international community. We support such ventures as Castlemaine Health(the Hospital), the Castlemaine respite facility (the Lions-McDonald Hill House), Windarring Disability Support Services, medical research funding and disaster relief.
In the local community, the Club is also involved in social welfare in a variety of ways by personal referral or referral from local agencies.
The Club provides opportunities for leadership, personal development and team work. It also provides social activities during the monthly dinner meetings. Visiting speakers at some of the dinner meetings provide interesting and informative occasions.
The Club also runs projects in the local primary and secondary schools (see Projects and Donations)
